Bringing his celebrated brand of contemporary coastal architecture to his own childhood playground of the Gold Coast was a “no brainer” for the award-winning designer-turned-developer.

 
 

He is famed for designing cutting-edge homes for high-end clients, yet lately star architect Joe Adsett has been inspired by simpler times.

Brisbane born and bred, Adsett recalls halcyon summer weekends catching waves along Queensland’s unspoilt southern tip.

Bringing his celebrated brand of contemporary coastal architecture to his own childhood playground of the Gold Coast was a “no brainer” for the award-winning designer-turned-developer.

Rockpool Rainbow Bay – Adsett’s planned luxury apartment project in Coolangatta – has clocked $50m in unconditional sales and more than 2,000 inquiries since launching to market in March.

 
 

“Rainbow Bay is somewhere I was taken to as a child. It’s the sheltered waters where you learn to surf and swim and play, and it’s somewhere I go back to now with my own children,” says Adsett.

“It’s just a really special part of the Coast, and when the site became available to purchase from Sunland it was an absolute no brainer to purchase it.
